Family of 3 just back from a stay in this hotel. Honestly the hotel itself was great! Lovely spacious room, comfortable beds. Reception staff were great! So friendly. Excluding the reception staff and a male bar staff, the rest were incredibly rude. The night we were for dinner we asked for menus for the bar food and the girl we asked came back with one menu, no kids menu when there was clearly a small child with us. She practically threw the menu at my partner. The next morning we went in for breakfast and I stood at the hot counter for about 5 mins to then be greeted with ‘yes, what do you want?’ We would never in a million years expect a person to be overly friendly or anything but a hello with a smile when you’re working in a hotel doesn’t go a stray. It’s very disappointing as we were planning on booking an extra night but because of the way the staff were acting we decided against it. Again lovely hotel but the staff (not all) let it down. This will stop us from booking your hotel again.
Some of the bar staff seemed to have little training done. They were unable to make any of the cocktails on the list or didn't seem interested nor was much effort put in to serving at the bar. The breakfast food was not hot on both mornings and I should have sent it back to be heated up. The hotel was nice but a bit disappointed with the bar and food.
Stayed for2 night break, overall the hotel was pleasant, the room was comfortable, the leisure centre was ok. There were plenty of seating areas in the lobby and on the 1st floor to relax. The hotel is badly let down by the bar and dining room in particular, with its industrial like seating, nothing to reduce the noise level which was considerable with a large hen group. The choice was poor and badly presented, i ordered a calimari starter which came as one large clump on the plate. The hot beakfast items on both mornings were cold, with inedible scrambled egg, tomatoes not cooked and bacon cold. There were plenty of staff but appeared to lack training, even the basics of clearing a table. Overall this is not at a four star rating.
Lovely clean accommodation, excellent breakfast, lovely staff
Our stay was very disappointing. no heating on in the bedroom. room was freezing.food very basic no thought gone into it's suppose to be a four star hotel more like 2 star we have stayed in many hotels and was shocked at this. ridiculous bar and restaurant menu which is same menu very boring our breakfast was cold in the morning service very poor waited a half hour to be served in bar and restaurant will be not staying again.
Really enjoyed our stay, stayed in a junior suite, was a beautifully decorated room, hotel was spotless, pool was lovely, food delicious, staff couldn't do enough for us especially Caroline on reception, can't wait to return.
I was very disappointed . I love this hotel but the food was very disappointing (chips were reheated and fish was dry and was coating was hard. Rooms were beautiful but cold during the night .
Looking forward nice family break 3 rooms booked only 2 on there system ask us did we book under a different name in all fairness, waiting nearly 1 hr more also booked table 19.30 to find out no table waiting over 1.15 hr just for starters, children had not being served aswell absolute disgrace what ever going on in kitchen, we complained no satisfaction I asked other guests they also waiting not as long as us also manager only there 1 week Useless & trying blame us My daughter might have said some words being A chef could hardly blame her as we all very upset and getting distressed we never treated as bad in hotels (terribly) ken
We had a great stay at this hotel. It is very clean and the staff are all very nice and helpful. The kids loved the pool. The food in the bar was lovely and there was great music on Saturday night
Cleanliness, friendly staff and very obliging. Rooms very clean and the fridge was very handy. Will be back
L
We had a relaxing overnight stay. Decor a bit dated, comfortable bed. Narrow bath with shower head attached to the bath taps. Breakfast average, room lacked atmosphere, coffee machine stopped working despite staff's best efforts to fix it.
The hotel was unreal and the food was amazing nicest food I had in a long time and we will be going back again
Good sized rooms. Great facilities. Good breakfast. Would stay again.
Room a bit cold, Food was excellent
My husband and I spent 3 nights at the hotel. We really enjoyed our break. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The pool is small but was lovely and warm. I booked a massage and facial with Gloria. She was amazing. I felt so good and relaxed. Definitely recommend it. We had dinner in the bar. There's not a huge choice but the food was delicious. The service was a quite slow and the staff seemed to be all over the place which made it a bigger problem than what it should've been. Overall, I had a very enjoyable few days and I will definitely go back.
A lovely family hotel. The room was clean and a great size for a family of 4
Swimming pool was excellent, clean, and warm... 10 out 10... we found our food was not to proper temperature. The menu had ran out of alot of food...eg turkey ham.. bread rolls, sea food chowder. Staff could do with bit more training...eg clean over table..slow at bar for drinks..
Hotel was gorgeous and staff were very friendly. We did end up being over charged when we checked in and only realised it when we got home. The deposit wasnt taking off the total cost of the stay. Also pool was broke and no running water in the room after breakfast on our day of checkout so couldn't have a shower, use the toilet or sink. Reception staff said someone was due to fix it but was still not sorted 2 hours later. Put a damper on a great night away
Very comfortable, enjoyable hotel experience. Friendly staff and good food .
Great relaxing break during the week and food also was great .
I feel the hotel was not up to a 4 Star Standard. While the staff were very nice there was a lack of experience. Breakfast was basic and served on a cold plate. Evening Menu okay but when meal served it was cold. Overall we were disappointed.
Location rural yet close to town and fantastic. Receptionist was so welcoming and helpful. Staff great. We dined on a Thursday evening in bar but I would love like to have restaurant option. We had lovely relaxation time in leisure centre. Families made really welcome.
This hotel is exactly what you see advertised - no false advertising here or photoshot images. Immaculately clean, big rooms, excellent selection of breakfast and hats off to the chef for great, grease-free omelettes. It is in a lovely location, has a great golf course and next to a race course . Lovely seating and bar outback. A really nice bar - the whole hotel beautifully furnished. A great reception when arrived and very helpful staff throughout our stay. ****
Lovely food , great dinner great breakie , nice and friendly staff
I found the hotel to be extremely clean and friendly, the staff were all very helpful and efficient. The food was lovely but a very small choice which stayed the same over the three days and I suspect along with most hotels now the restaurant is only open for dinner Thursday to Sunday. Overall a very pleasant and relaxing break
Room nice Reception staff very efficient Food nice but bar staff need training Breakfast layout needs improving Ie Cold meats cheese and fruit section Leisure centre ie gents changing room very wet and unkept
Lovely hotel .staff very pleasant..got an upgraded room .Only one chair in the room..some of the tiles loose and cracked on the bathroom floor . otherwise it was a lovely hotel.
when we arrived at reception system had us down for 2 nights b&b only. After intervention from another staff member matter was resolved. i paid supplement of €10 for steak meal but did not get crispy onions which was on menu. no cups in leisure area for drinking water machine. apart from above accommodation very good as was food.
Lovely relaxed hotel, very friendly staff Vera on reception was very helpful and the bar staff were lovely also nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely stay again.
Lovely staff and great food. Will come back again.
Lovely hotel, clean and well kept. Staff kind & friendly. We stayed in a family room catering for 2 adults 2 children very spacious room. Only down side the double bed was quite soft for my husband and he didn't sleep well. Otherwise it was a lovely stay.
Vera welcomed us with a smile and a chat. Really enjoyed our 3 course meal, service was excellent and friendly. Used swimming pool twice, lovely area. Will definitely be back.
Great hotel, nice leisure centre exelent food and drinks. Rooms clean and comfortable. We spend 2 nights there staff very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place for family breaks or getaway with friends. Live music not my style but still nice to have a pint and have opportunity to listen when someone sing a songs. Definitely back there
I'd recommend the Ballykisteen Golf Hotel, the staff were very helpful and the food was lovely. I'd definitely go back.
Lovely friendly staff. Arrived for breakfast at 10.30 Sunday morning to find hot buffet almost empty and we were told it wouldn't be refilled, a bit disappointed
Lovely stay! Great staff very friendly
Very friendly staff lovely food spacious bedroom and very good value for money
Fantastic deal with no compromise on service and quality. Staff were amazing and so helpful and attentive to all our needs. Highly recommend.
Lovely hotel
Very poor quality food in Restaurant
Lovely hotel with friendly staff and poor quality food. Our two night package included an evening meal on both nights. Attentive friendly restaurant staff but unacceptable delays in getting food. Some items of food were very poor quality (chicken wings not cooked properly, garlic potatoes inedible, poor calamari, crumble desert inedible etc.
Large clean comfortable family room, really comfortable beds. Had fabulous meal great menu. The hotel had entertainment on in the bar was very lively great atmosphere.
Spotless Hotel, Staff were so nice and helpful. The food was amazing. Had a little mishap with the meal being very late but the staff were amazing in how they handled it. 5 Stars for this hotel.
the hotel was brillinant and the staff . we will come again for sure
My wife and I spent last Saturday in this hotel, first class service from the time we walked in the door and exceptional value with excellent food & Entertainment, would highly recommend a visit.
Lovely hotel, staff were super friendly. A nice a relaxing environment
excellent hotel great food really friendly staff. great golf course.
Lovely hotel very clean and friendly staff
Service non existent during lunchtime, had to drive to another restaurant to get lunch but service and food quality in the evenings very good, staff very nice and helpful.
Great hotel and a great price thanks to lidl breaks ,would recommend lidl breaks to all my friends,a golf course on site which suited me and wife as we are golfers ,really enjoyed the the few days.
We had a lovely stay here. The hotel was so clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food and cocktails were fab. All in all a lovely break away
Staff very friendly and efficient. Bedroom clean and bed comfortable. No problem in booking in again and have done for end of July.
Very clean and friendly hotel staff excellent and food really good
Very good hotel, stayed with 2 small kids and everything was very convenient and staff were very helpful.
Very pleasant and efficient staff. Reception lady was charming and helpful.
Room excellent Food quality and presentation top class.
Hotel is spacious and clean. Staff very helpful and very friendly - would recommend this hotel for a quiet chilled relaxing break and take advantage of a nice pool steam room and sauna with a jacuzzi that is a massage therapy in itself. ****
Second time to stay in this hotel we loved it.staff are so friendly and chatty.serves a perfect pint of Coors ✔only downfall was the breakfast both mornings there either wasn't much left at the time we went down and food was quite cold.but other than that we had a great time
My girlfriend & I stayed at the ballykisteen hotel recently and found it to be quite enjoyable ☺. The hotel was modern and the rooms were clean. The hotel staff where friendly and very helpful when needed. I would recommend others to this hotel as you get alot for the price you pay. My only bad mark against the hotel is just the location. If you don't have a car you really can't get very far. Other than that it is a great hotel.
A beautiful hotel with excellent service and lovely food. Well worth a visit as it is exceptional value
Quiet, spacious, away from the noise and traffic of the town. Room and food were great. Everyone was most kind and helpful.
Nice hotel, food good and great setting on the Golf course.
I stayed in the Ballykisteen Hotel two weeks ago with my elderly parents,The staff were excellent and my parents were given a room with a walk in shower which was near to reception Exactly what they need. The hotel has great facilities and amazing food.I couldn't fault the hotel or staff. Many thanks for a wonderful stay!
Was a very pleasant stay, staff were all very nice and very helpful.
The hotel is in bad need of a bit of an upgrade. Shabby in a few areas. The staff were courteous, polite and friendly. guys in the pro shop were helpful and chatty. Pool, jacuzzi and leisure facilities were excellent. Overall we had a lovely time and would not hesitate in recommending the hotel to friends.
Great hotel, staff couldn't do enough for you. We only stayed one night this time, hope to stay longer next time.
Lovely Break, Staff were excellent and the food was great too..would recommend .Thanks
This was a lovely hotel. Everything from the staff to the facilities was top notch. The meal in the restaurant was lovely and tasty. The lodges were beautifully decorated and very spacious. Majella in reservations was more than helpful as we were quite a large group and took some organising! Already we are looking into a return visit to this hotel.
Had a brilliant weekend. They gave us the Junior suite which was a beautiful surprise. Food and service excellent. Leisure centre lovely. Had an all over massage which was so relaxing. All staff lovely. Really relax and would recommend this hotel to everyone. Definitely going back soon.
Excellent hotel, went above and beyond for us
Hi my friend and I enjoyed our stay at Ballykisteen. Great staff and excellent food. Room comfortable. I would like to suggest that the leisure centre would supply larger towels as the towels were ridiculously small. Perhaps there was a shortage of towels on the day I was there as pool very busy with mid term break.
Excellent hotel
Enjoyable one night stay at this hotel, Our room was lovely, looking out on the golf course, Hotel is spotless, Staff very friendly & welcoming. We were on Dinner B&B basis , Dinner was scrumptious from starter through to desert, Breakfast also very nice with lots of choice, this was my 4th visit to this hotel and shall not be last. Highly recommend for relaxing break.
Really enjoyed overnight stay..The Staff are very friendly and helpful..Had a lovely meal in the restaurant with plenty of everything..the only problem was that the chairs slide around on the floor and when the staff were moving a table they struck against my brother-in-law and his chair went gliding on the floor.they were all apologies to him..entertainment in bar was very good really enjoyed it..Breakfast was bit disappointing as there were loads of flies around the food which is very offputting..We stayed in Room 116 and there was a constant buzzing sound coming from somewhere - we felt it could have been the fuse box..All in all this was a great hotel and we would definately return.
This hotel is well-placed between Tipperary and Limerick and is in an excellent location. However there are a number of small problems with the hotel. Two out of the three showers in the Ladies changing room did not work, and I remember the same problem from previous stays in Ballykisteen. The toilet in our hotel room also did not flush, so i hope this problem was quickly sorted for the next guests.
My wife and myself spent two nights in the Ballykisteen Hote last week and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was so spacious, with every facility and overlooked the golf course. We had dinner in the bar both nights and the quality of the food and the service was excellent. A good base for touring around Limerick and South Tipperary. We will return again.
Fabulous Hotel and very friendly staff! Really enjoyed the break and such amazing value.
Beautiful modern hotel, with large spotless rooms with all the neccessary mod cons. Very popular with weddings. Only downfall was the meal, food wasnt great but it may have been an off night. Would stay again if in the area.
Room was very comfortable. Food was very good with a decent menu choice. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Leisure facilities very good -particularly the golf course.
Very unsatisfactory - rooms unclean, carpet filthy, dirt all over the room, same with leisure facilities, steam room out of order, lockers not working, complained to manager and was not offered any compensation
The hotel was satisfactory but the meal was very disappointing. I would not give it a four star rating.
Have recently returned from a 2 night break, had a great time, hotel was good, staff very helpful, accomodation good, overall a very plesent experience, we also had our two children aged 4 and 6 with us and were upgraded to a self catering lodge close to the hotel. would make a return visit. great value for money. 4/5
This was a fantastic 4 star hotel and well worth the %u20AC49 each we paid for B&B with dinner. The hotel was spotless, friendly staff, the leisure centre was adequate, the food was lovely and there was entertainment in the bar on Saturday night. We got the train for a change but as there isn't much else to do if you are not playing golf then I suggest you bring your car. That way you can drive arouind this lovely part of the country, Well done lidl for geat value breaks
stafff were lovely, hotel had very clean bedrooms, enterence could be improved and I did not likethe bar area but overall good value for money. I would give it a 3 star rating
This was a lovely break and excellent value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed a beautiful meal. I would like to give it four stars. M W
The hotel looked lovely as we pulled up to it but when we got to check in we were informed that we would be staying in a lodge and not a hotel room, and unfortunately I wasn't best pleased with this as when I book a hotel I like to stay in the hotel, now the lodges were lovely if a bit cold, but we did have to walk to and from the hotel for meals in the rain, which wasn't the best. The receptionisst did say that we should have been informed that they did not have family rooms in the hotel but we weren't so it was a bit disappointing.
Enjoyed our stay, we booked a family room for %u20AC78 b&b when we checked in we were told it was to one of the lodges on the grounds overlooking the golf course. The lodges were lovely and it was great to have the kitchen facilities which had everything you could want. The hotel itself was nice and the pool was lovely. I would recommend this hotel and the rate we paid on the lidl website was great value.
Very nice hotel, nice rooms, nice staff and nice location.
